About
Ak-Say Canyon, near the eastern shore of Issyk-Kul, is one of Kyrgyzstan's most colourful geological formations. Its rock layers in red, orange and russet tones bear the traces of millions of years of sedimentation and erosion. The canyon walls take on different colours at different times of day.
Located close to Skazka Canyon, it is a popular stop on Issyk-Kul tour routes. Short walks lead into the canyon, where you can walk among the layered rock walls and capture unique photographs. This quiet, little-known natural wonder offers an off-the-beaten-path experience.
