About
Cholpon-Ata is a lively resort town on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul. It is home to one of the world's most important open-air petroglyph museums: in the Cholpon-Ata Valley, thousands of rock carvings dated to 4,000 years ago depict hunting scenes, animals and daily life. These petroglyphs are among the earliest visual records in human history.
The Rukh Ordo Cultural Center is a unique complex combining art, history and spiritual traditions. Its symbolic structures representing the world's religions and its sculpture gardens offer visitors a peaceful atmosphere. With its beaches, water sports and nightlife, the town is also one of the liveliest spots on Issyk-Kul.
