Chon-Kemin Valley is a lush green valley about 100 kilometres east of Bishkek, between the Kyrgyz Alatau and Kungey Ala-Too ranges. Decorated with pine forests, wide pastures and a clear river, the valley is a peaceful refuge for those seeking an escape from the city.
Traditional Kyrgyz villages line the valley, where families still raise horses and livestock. Visitors can ride through the villages on horseback, stay in yurts and taste local cuisine. Chon-Kemin also carries traces of Silk Road history: remnants of ancient caravan routes can be found in the area.
