About
Skazka Canyon (Russian for "Fairytale") is a natural rock formation near the village of Tosor, on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. Sculpted by wind and water over millions of years, the canyon's bizarre rock shapes in red, orange, yellow and grey tones make it feel like an open-air art gallery.
Walking paths inside the canyon pass between these natural sculptures and lead to viewpoints overlooking Issyk-Kul. At sunset, golden light falling on the red rocks gives the canyon a magical atmosphere. Skazka is a must-see stop for photographers and nature lovers alike.
