About
Song-Kol is a mountain lake and nomadic highland pasture at 3,016 metres above sea level, reachable only by mountain paths. With no road access, the area offers unspoiled nature far from the modern world. From June to September, herder families move their herds up to the pasture and set up traditional felt yurts.
Visitors can stay in the yurts, taste kymyz (fermented mare's milk), join horseback rides around the lake, and experience nomadic life first-hand. At night, far from any light pollution, the stars shine with incredible clarity. Song-Kol offers an unforgettable highland experience where Kyrgyz culture lives in its purest form.
